Halloween: A Spooktacular Season of Creativity and Community

Halloween used to be a one-night affair—just enough time to decide on a costume, put it together, and head out for some trick-or-treating. But somehow, the spirit of the season has expanded, with opportunities to dress up and celebrate popping up all throughout October. 

I'm here for this evolution of Halloween! I love any excuse to turn clementines into jack-o'-lanterns, transform string cheese into friendly ghosts, and encourage creativity and silliness. And living in the perfect New England climate certainly helps fuel that autumnal enthusiasm.

While I don't personally go in for the more ghoulish side of Halloween, I've always gravitated toward the natural, whimsical elements - bats, cats, pumpkins, and the like. As my kids have grown, we've found new ways to extend the fun, like adding slime and dry ice experiments to our seasonal activities.
